Keeping kids occupied can be a hard task during the school holidays – so The Y (formerly known as YMCA) North Shore Recreation Centre offers the most fun school holiday programs where you’ll be picking up happy kids who are excited for the next day.
From day trips to sports-based programmes, no two sets of holidays are quite alike. With a variety of exciting and different programmes, there is something to suit your child's needs.
Yes, we do! As an approved holiday programme, parents who are eligible can access the OSCAR subsidy from Work and Income. If this is you, contact email@example.com as we need to complete Part C of the application form, and you will need to pay a 20% deposit. There are different subsidy rates depending on your eligibility – check out www.winz.govt.nz for more information.
The Y uses an online booking system called AimyPlus. To book, you will need to register first on https://ymca-akl-ham-bop.aimyplus.com/ - this is where you will put in all your details, and information about your child/ren including any medical conditions, and who can collect your child.
Active kids are happy kids! Clothing children can move in is best, and for those who go hard, a change of clothes is always great to have in the bag. Children will need to bring a drinkbottle, sunhat, morning tea and lunch every day.
Unfortunately no, not at this stage.
The Y North Shore is located at 5 Akoranga Drive, Northcote. There is parking in front and behind the building.
Children must be signed in and out each day by an authorised person. You can add as many people as you would like into your AimyPlus profile to collect your child. If someone turns up to collect a child and they are not on the approved list, we will call you to confirm. If your child will be making their own way to/from the programme please email firstname.lastname@example.org so you can complete the arrive/depart unaccompanied form.
