Joining The Y family from October 2024, the Birkdale centre has a new name, with the same great team - so you can be sure of excellent quality learning and care for your children.
We believe that the inclusion of our family and community are an integral part of every child's development. Therefore, our teachers take every opportunity to communicate with our whanau/ extended whanau (verbally and through Story Park), in order to build those long-life relationships that build trust and unity over the coming years.
Monday to Friday 9.00am - 3.30pm

BOOK A FREE VISITOur early childhood curriculum follows the Te Whariki Early Childhood Curriculum, set by the Ministry of Education. From this we want our children to become competent, confident learners, who are healthy in their mind, body and spirit. We also want them to realise that they make a contribution to society that is valued.
Our wonderful natural outdoor environment includes a large, covered, all-weather sandpit and a child-size whare, complete with carvings and children's artwork.
Learning also comes from within. Our home corner enables children to free-play and role-play, stirring, filling, emptying, pouring, shaking, trying things on and taking them off.
