At The Y, we are passionate about helping West Auckland Tamariki and Rangatahi grow their love of basketball. Whether players are picking up a basketball for the first time or developing advanced skills, our goal is to provide a fun, inclusive, and positive environment where every player can Grow Their Game.
We are excited to welcome all teams back to the court and look forward to another fantastic season of basketball.

Please note:
What to do if you do not have enough players to take the court:
A team may use a fill-in player if they are short on players, but approval must be obtained from Y Sports. Players can only be brought up from a lower grade or lower age division, and they cannot be used from the same division. Once approved, the player's name is added to the scoresheet and marked as approved.
Under no circumstances are teams meant to request this from the referee at the game.
The coach, manager, or co-ordinator should email Y Sports with:
Y Sports then reviews the request and confirms whether the player is approved.
As we move into the Round Robin phase of the season, competition communications regarding draw changes, defaults, and scheduling updates will be sent directly to team managers and coaches. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please contact your school or club coordinator first. They will liaise with our admin team where required.
We would like to thank all players, coaches, managers, referees, volunteers, schools, clubs, and whānau for their ongoing support of Y Basketball.
We wish all teams the very best for the season and look forward to seeing players develop their confidence, skills, teamwork, and love for the game.
Play hard, play fair, and most importantly, have fun! 🏀
We understand that it’s hard for parents to leave their kids in other people’s care, that’s why we take safety very seriously. The Y Holiday Programmes are proudly approved and audited by Child Youth and Family (CYF).
All The Y Holiday Programme Staff undergo police checks, inducted and receive on-going training which include Child Protection, Behaviour Management and Health & Safety.
