Our Statement of Services reporting is fast becoming the glue that connects how our mahi every day positively impacts young people and communities, with the mission of delivering strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Our Statement of Services is a detailed reporting of our community engagement and connection, highlighting a snapshot of the positive benefit the Y has made in the community in the last 12 months.

Built around our four key pillars, connecting and supporting communities, promoting community health and wellbeing, youth engagement – engaging and enriching lives, and providing education and support to build strong kids, families and communities, this report measures how our impact implies significant changes in people’s lives that address a social challenge such as health, connection or living conditions.

These measurements help us understand, learn, and adapt our programs and services to ensure we can grow positive engagement in our communities. The results of this report show that by mahi tahi ana with our partners, members, and wider community, The Y can nurture communities and continue to support them to achieve their goals - despite the challenges of modern life. While we offer much more than these four pillars through our multitude of programmes and services, these pillars are what The Y believe are our most meaningful contributions to our communities.

This is the first year that we are able to share these results in our Annual Report, with our benchmark year launched in the 2022 financial year. With The Y’s wide reach engaging tens of thousands of people each year across Auckland, Waikato, and the Bay of Plenty, we impact the lives of thousands of families. It’s exciting to see that the data from our first report shows that The Y customers are meeting or exceeding the relevant benchmarks in each of our priority social impact outcomes. By sharing our mahi, we show the benefit from the better well-being outcomes, future prospects, community ties, expansive opportunities and chances for growth and development, and better mental health that are associated with being a part of The Y.
