Our school holiday programmes at Sir William Jordan Recreation Centre managed by The Y (formerly known as YMCA) are a great way to meet new friends and experience new things.
We have school holiday programmes that will never let your kids get bored during their time with us. With heaps of stuff to do, it’s the perfect way to end a school term with exciting activities for children aged five –15 years old, and we go on awesome day trips too!

For years The Y has provided a safe and secure environment, where kids can just be’ and enjoy their time with us. We want to support every parent by not only being a fun programme, but also a safe haven where kids’ development is supported and learning is recognised.
The Y is Aotearoa’s first and only accredited organisation through the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF). We are proud to lead the children’s workforce as a child-safe organisation. Find out more.
Yes, we do! As an approved holiday programme, parents who are eligible can access the OSCAR subsidy from Work and Income. If this is you, contact firstname.lastname@example.org as we need to complete Part C of the application form, and you will need to pay a 20% deposit. There are different subsidy rates depending on your eligibility – check out www.winz.govt.nz for more information.
The Y uses an online booking system called AimyPlus. To book, you will need to register first on https://ymca-akl-ham-bop.aimyplus.com/ - this is where you will put in all your details, and information about your child/ren including any medical conditions, and who can collect your child.
Active kids are happy kids! Clothing children can move in is best, and for those who go hard, a change of clothes is always great to have in the bag. Children will need to bring a drinkbottle, sunhat, morning tea and lunch every day.
Unfortunately no, not at this stage.
We are located at 5 Pearce Street in Onehunga. There is plenty of parking in front of us.
Children must be signed in and out each day by an authorised person. You can add as many people as you would like into your AimyPlus profile to collect your child. If someone turns up to collect a child and they are not on the approved list, we will call you to confirm. If your child will be making their own way to/from the programme please email email@example.com so you can complete the arrive/depart unaccompanied form.
Have a question? Call us on 021 516 744 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
