But that's not all! This event is not just about having fun - it's also about safety! The Y is partnering with Auckland Council Animal Management services to ensure that this event is safe for all dogs and their owners. So you can rest assured that your furry friend will be in good hands.

$15.00 entry fee per dog. Each owner is limited to one dog and one session for safety purposes.

Dog Day Policies and Procedures

  • All dogs must have a valid and current registration from Auckland Council.
  • Only fully vaccinated dogs will be allowed in the water.
  • Dogs with diarrheal illness or skin infections will not be allowed in the facility.
  • Auckland Council Animal Management officers will be on site to check all dogs during the event.
  • Dogs attending should have been washed before the event.
  • A separate entry will be established for dogs and their owners to access/exit the facility.
  • Access to lavatory facilities will be available for dog owners who participate in Dog Day.
  • The pool circulation will be turned off during the event and will remain off until the pool is thoroughly cleansed, drained and refilled.
  • Faecal accidents that occur will be dealt with immediately by dog owner and staff.
  • Special cleaning will take place with 13% chlorine in any area where there has been a faecal incident immediately following the event.
  • All dogs will be managed by their owners with the support of Animal Management officers.
  • All responsibility in organising the event rests with The Y.
  • The Y is not liable for any injury or illness to any dogs sustained at the event.
