Two groups of Year 6 students from Silverdale School recently visited our Y Shakespear Lodge for their annual school camps.

From the moment they arrived, students got stuck straight in. Days were spent out exploring and challenging themselves on hikes through the surrounding landscape, to archery, to sea kayaking. From there, things ramped up with coasteering, climbing, and mountain boarding. The slip and slide proved a standout, often mentioned by campers as a highlight of the experience.
Supported by an experienced team, each camper was encouraged to step outside what they thought they were capable of, building confidence as they marked the final chapter of their primary school years.
After the action-packed days, night times consisted of hearty shared kai and games core to a traditional camp experience. These moments of connection are key for building friendships that go beyond camp and school, and memories that last a lifetime.
After the camps we done, our team received two letters thanking them for the awesome experience! For the Y team at Shakespear Lodge, those moments matter.

As Joe, Programme Manager at The Y Shakespear Lodge, shared:
“Getting letters from our campers honestly means the world to us. Knowing they had an amazing time is exactly why we do what we do. It’s the reason we get up each morning ready to make camp special all over again.”
For schools looking to create a similar experience, The Y Shakespear Lodge offers tailored camp programmes designed to challenge, connect, and build confidence in young people.
