YMCA Hamilton is taking the guess work out of winter school holiday activities this year by offering a range of fun and engaging sessions for kids aged 5 to 15 across seven different locations.

The holiday activities include rock climbing, dance and gymnastics lessons, Ten Pin bowling and excursions to the movies and museum. Programmes for 5-12 year olds are available at Hukanui, Hamilton West, Silverdale, Endeavour, Woodstock and Aberdeen Primary Schools. In addition to activities for 5-12 year olds, the YMCA Hamilton stadium on Pembroke Street is also offering a programme for kids aged 11-15.

Out of School Care manager Monique Farrant says YMCA Hamilton’s holiday programmes are designed to offer a range of activities that inspire positive social interactions and a fun learning environment.

“Holiday programmes should be about more than just keeping kids occupied,” Monique says.

“The holidays are also a chance for kids to select activities of interest to them, and to socially connect with peers of a similar age outside of their school environment.”

YMCA holiday programmes are run by staff who have undergone extensive child-safe training, and first-aid qualified staff are always onsite. The not-for-profit organisation also offers WINZ subsidies to enable all families to have access to the service.

YMCA Hamilton holiday programmes run from July 10 – 21, 7:30am to 5:30pm. Visit the holiday programmes website to find out more or book online.
