As many of you know, in 2021 we proudly announced our name change from the YMCA to The Y. This change reflects our commitment to being an inclusive organisation that welcomes everyone, regardless of background or identity. Our journey towards this new identity has been a phased process, and we are thrilled to share our latest milestone with you.

We have already updated our name across our websites and throughout the organisation. Now, we are excited to announce the rollout of our new uniforms. These uniforms will be provided to new staff and to existing staff as their current uniforms need replacing. The entire uniform has been reviewed and refreshed to ensure it is modern, fit for purpose, and maintains a professional appearance. Importantly, they are designed to be easily identifiable as The Y staff, ensuring that our team members are recognisable and approachable.

Pictured here are some of our dedicated staff at our hostel, proudly wearing the new uniforms. Over the coming months, you will see these uniforms being introduced across more locations.

Looking ahead, we are also planning to rebrand our buildings to reflect our new identity. But most important is still to ensure that all of our members, customers, guests and facility users feel welcome and included. We believe these changes will help us better serve our community and continue to build a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.
