Community Play is back at our Ellerslie Leisure Centre!

This programme offers an affordable, parent-supervised space where tamariki can explore at their own pace in a safe environment. This programme has recently returned for the first time since 2022 and has been running for the past few weeks, already proving to be a hit with families. There is currently one weekly session on Thursdays from 10am-2pm for the small cost of $8.50.
Each session is set up with a variety of equipment that changes weekly, but you can expect a mix of beams, trampolines, and soft play shapes designed to encourage movement, coordination, and confidence.
Community Play supports early childhood development while also creating a space for whānau and families to connect. Children can build their social skills, gain confidence, and enjoy active play, while parents and caregivers can support.
We’ve also made sure the space works for the whole family. There are quieter activities like colouring for when kids need a break, music playing in the background, and a welcoming kitchen area with complimentary tea and coffee. It’s the perfect place to pause for morning tea or lunch and connect with other parents in the community.
