According to Water Safety New Zealand, drowning is the third highest cause of unintentional death in our country and we have one of the worst preschool drowning rates in the world. We are passionate about making a difference in helping to reduce this staggering statistic.
Our Water Safety Team members and our friendly mascot, Wai the Whale head out into local communities educating children about being safe around water. Our main focus is to teach children not to swim without adult supervision, a message we deliver through stories and songs.
Our Water Safety visits are free to any Preschools, Early Learning Centres, Schools, Plunket Groups, community groups or organisations.
