At Lynfield Youth & Leisure Centre managed by The Y (formerly known as YMCA), we understand first-hand how difficult the holidays can be. So let us take the kids off your hands and ramp up the school holiday fun!
Offering a new adventure every day with a range of inclusive and stimulating activities, our holiday programmes are based on our themes of Active, Creative and Lifeskills.

For years The Y has provided a safe and secure environment, where kids can just be’ and enjoy their time with us. We want to support every parent by not only being a fun programme, but also a safe haven where kids’ development is supported and learning is recognised.
The Y is Aotearoa’s first and only accredited organisation through the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF). We are proud to lead the children’s workforce as a child-safe organisation. Find out more.
Yes, we do! As an approved holiday programme, parents who are eligible can access the OSCAR subsidy from Work and Income. If this is you, contact email@example.com as we need to complete Part C of the application form, and you will need to pay a 20% deposit. There are different subsidy rates depending on your eligibility – check out www.winz.govt.nz for more information.
The Y uses an online booking system called AimyPlus. To book, you will need to register first on https://ymca-akl-ham-bop.aimyplus.com/ - this is where you will put in all your details, and information about your child/ren including any medical conditions, and who can collect your child.
Active kids are happy kids! Clothing children can move in is best, and for those who go hard, a change of clothes is always great to have in the bag. Children will need to bring a drinkbottle, morning tea and lunch every day. Children can bring their rugby boots, but they are not a requirement, and are not to be worn in the club. Children who play tackle will need to have their mouth guard with them as well.
Unfortunately no, not at this stage.
We have our own room at The Y Lynfield - at reception turn right and come down the hallway to our space!
Children must be signed in and out each day by an authorised person. You can add as many people as you would like into your AimyPlus profile to collect your child. If someone turns up to collect a child and they are not on the approved list, we will call you to confirm. If your child will be making their own way to/from the programme please email firstname.lastname@example.org so you can complete the arrive/depart unaccompanied form.
The Y also offers...
