We are seeking a committed Aquatics Supervisor to join our lively team at Onehunga War Memorial Pool! This full-time role provides a dynamic work environment with a flexible weekly roster, ensuring each week brings new experiences.
What will you be doing?
- Create a fun and friendly environment within the Pool, that is welcoming and comfortable to all members, new and old, and encourages a sense of belonging and support
- Manage the Lifeguard team, ensuring ongoing training is provided and recorded adequately
- Assist Lifeguard team in maintaining pool water quality and ensuring a clean and safe pool environment
- Assist the Aquatics Operations Manager with recruiting Lifeguards that align with our vision.
- Prepare and monitor the Pool Operations roster ensuring that there are no gaps in the roster at any time
- Oversee the day-to-day Plant room operations and maintenance
- Identifying maintenance and action these by minimising the risk and reporting them to the Aquatics Operations Manager.
- Be the Health and Safety Champ for the Centre.
- Oversee pool, chemical, cleaning budget and order when needed to ensure minimum stock levels
What experience/skills do you need?
- PLSA (Pool Lifeguard Skills Award)
- PLPC (Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate)
- First Aid Certificate
- 2 years Senior Lifeguard experience preferable
- Exceptional staff management and leadership
- Exceptional communication skills
- Has good time management and organisational skills
- Coaching and training experience – preferable but not necessary
- Water Treatment Certificate - NZS 5826:2010 Units 25982, 25981 and 25980 - preferable but not necessary
- Chemical Handlers Certificate (chlorine) – preferable but not necessary
