February & March Fitness Promotional Terms and Conditions
These Promotional Terms and Conditions apply in addition to the YMCA North Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions. Where there is any inconsistency, these Promotional Terms apply for the duration of the promotion.
By taking part in this promotion conducted by YMCA North Inc. (the Promoter), participants agree to have read, understood, and accepted the following Terms and Conditions:
1. Promoter
This promotion is run by YMCA North Inc. (The Y North), Cnr Pitt St & Greys Ave, Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand (“the Promoter”).
2. Promotion Period
The promotion runs from 16 February 2026 12:00am to 15 March 2026 11:59pm (“Promotion Period”).
3. Eligibility
3.1 The promotion is open to individuals aged 18 years and over.
3.2 Eligibility is limited to new or returning members who have not held an active fitness membership with The Y North in the 30 days prior to joining.
3.3 The promotion is available at the participating Y Owned and Y Managed fitness centres listed below.
3.4 For the purposes of these Promotional Terms, participating centres are classified as follows:
Y Owned fitness centres:
- The Y Auckland City
- The Y Hamilton
- The Y North Shore
Y Managed fitness centres:
- The Ellerslie Leisure Centre
- The Glen Innes Pool and Leisure Centre
- The Massey Gym and Leisure Centre
- The Onehunga War Memorial Pools and Leisure Centre
- The Lagoon Leisure & Fitness Centre
- The Sir William Jordan Recreation Centre
3.5 The following memberships are excluded from this promotion:
- All Youth Freedom and Youth Term memberships
- Aquatic / Swim memberships
- Casual passes and concession-only access
- External provider memberships (including ClassPass, Fitness Passport, Exercise NZ)
- Staff or complimentary memberships
3.6 Participation in the promotion constitutes acceptance of these Promotional Terms and the standard Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions.
4. Definitions
For the purposes of these Promotional Terms:
- “Y Owned fitness centres” means fitness centres owned and operated by YMCA North Inc.
- “Y Managed fitness centres” means fitness centres owned by a third party (including local councils) and operated by YMCA North Inc. under a management agreement.
5. Promotional Offer
5.1 Eligible members who join during the Promotion Period on an eligible 6-month or 12-month minimum-term membership as specified in clauses 6 and 7 will receive their first month of membership free.
5.2 After the free month, membership fees will be payable at the applicable standard weekly rate for the selected membership type and site. For upfront paid memberships, the total membership price reflects the promotional discount applied at the time of purchase.
5.3 After the free month, membership fees will be payable in accordance with the selected 6-month or 12-month minimum-term membership and the applicable rates for the selected site.
5.4 This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless expressly approved by the Promoter.
5.5 A standard joining fee of $29 applies and is payable at the time of sign-up. The joining fee is not discounted or waived as part of this promotion.
6. Y Owned Fitness Centres
6.1 At Y owned fitness centres (as defined in clause 4), the promotion applies to Adult and Community memberships on a 6-month or 12-month minimum-term contract. Memberships may be paid weekly or monthly by direct debit, or paid upfront in full.
6.2 The free month is applied at the start of the minimum term.
6.3 After the free month, weekly membership fees will be charged at the applicable standard discounted term rate for the selected membership.
6.4 All minimum-term conditions, including cancellation fees and notice requirements, apply in accordance with the Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions.
7. Y Managed Fitness Centres
7.1 At Y managed fitness centres (as defined in clause 4), the promotion applies to Adult and Concession Gym It or Get Into It memberships on a 6-month or 12-month minimum-term contract offered for the Promotion Period only. Memberships may be paid weekly or monthly by direct debit, or paid upfront in full, where available.
7.2 The free month is applied at the start of the minimum term. For direct debit memberships, payments will commence after the free month at the applicable promotional term rate.
7.3 For upfront paid memberships, the total membership price reflects the promotional discount applied at the time of purchase. The free month is not provided as a separate refund or credit.
7.4 Cancellation, suspension, and early termination of promotional memberships at Y Managed centres are subject to the minimum-term provisions set out in the Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions..
8. Membership Status and Cancellations
8.1 Members must maintain an active and fully paid membership to retain the benefit of the promotional offer.
8.2 If a membership is cancelled or terminated during the minimum term, cancellation fees may apply in accordance with the Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions.
8.3 If a membership is cancelled during the free month, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the benefit of the promotion to the extent permitted by law.
8.4 Promotional memberships are subject to standard access, usage, and transfer rules as outlined in the Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions.
8.5 At the end of the applicable 6-month or 12-month minimum term, the membership will continue as an open-term (freedom) membership and fees will revert to the standard weekly rate applicable at that time, unless the member cancels in accordance with the Fitness Membership Terms and Conditions.
9. General
9.1 The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw this promotion at any time where reasonably necessary.
9.2 Nothing in these Promotional Terms limits or excludes a consumer’s rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
9.3 The Promoter reserves the right to limit the number of promotional memberships issued during the Promotion Period.
