We’re on the hunt for a Payroll Administrator to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract! As our Payroll Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely payment of wages and salaries for all employees, maintaining related records, and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
- End-to-end payroll processing, including onboarding new employees, updating records, and processing terminations.
- Ensuring payroll compliance with all relevant legislation, taxation, and audit requirements.
- Handling payroll queries and tickets promptly and professionally.
- Maintaining data integrity through regular audits and accurate record-keeping.
- Liaising with managers to provide advice, guidance, and training on payroll matters.
- Supporting system upgrades, process improvements, and project work related to payroll.
What experience/skills do you need?
- At least 3 years’ hands-on payroll administration experience in a large, complex organisation.
- Strong working knowledge of NZ payroll legislation, including ACC, Kiwisaver, and PAYE taxation.
- Experience with iChris/Frontier or similar payroll systems, and ideally a Time & Attendance system like Kiosk.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, building positive relationships across all levels.
