Ready to level up your payroll career? We’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Support Office team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to develop your payroll career while contributing to meaningful, behind-the-scenes change. If you enjoy improving processes, adapting to new ways of working, and helping our managers navigate change with confidence, this role will suit you well.

In this role, you’ll ensure our people are paid accurately and on time, while also working closely with managers to provide guidance, support, and confidence around payroll processes and systems. You’ll be involved in embedding improved ways of working, gaining valuable experience in process improvement, systems change, and stakeholder engagement along the way!


What will you be doing?

  • End-to-end payroll processing, including onboarding new employees, updating records, and processing terminations.
  • Ensuring payroll compliance with all relevant legislation, taxation, and audit requirements.
  • Handling payroll queries and tickets promptly and professionally.
  • Maintaining data integrity through regular audits and accurate record-keeping.
  • Liaising with managers to provide advice, guidance, and training on payroll matters.
  • Supporting system upgrades, process improvements, and project work related to payroll.

What experience/skills do you need?

  • A tertiary qualification or practical administrative experience, with exposure to payroll, finance, or HR systems
  • Knowledge of NZ payroll legislation, including ACC, Kiwisaver, and PAYE taxation.
  • Experience with iChris/Frontier or similar payroll systems, and ideally a Time & Attendance system
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, building positive relationships across all levels.
