It’s fun to work at The Y!

We are looking for a Lifeguard to join our team at Glen Innes Pool and Leisure Centre. This is a great part time role offering a minimum of 21 hours per week over a Monday, Friday, and Sunday.

What will you be doing?

  • Actively supervise the pool to ensure all users are safe and following facility guidelines.
  • Respond quickly to incidents, including performing rescues and providing first aid when required.
  • Monitor pool activity and manage lane use to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Keep the pool and wider centre clean, safe, and well-presented, including maintaining equipment.
  • Carry out water testing and support pool operations to meet health and safety standards.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and assist visitors with enquiries.
  • Promote programmes and contribute to a positive, community-focused environment.

What experience/skills do you need?

  • Be a confident swimmer.
  • Required Qualifications: Support to gain required qualifications can be provided.
  • PLSA (Pool Lifeguard Skills Award).
  • PLPC (Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate).
  • First Aid Cert.
