It’s fun to work at the Y!
We are looking for a professional Group Fitness Instructor, specifically a Zumba or Dance Instructor to join our great team based at the Massey Gym and Leisure Centre on a contractor basis. This role is responsible for delivering engaging and motivating Zumba or Dance classes to Adult and Senior members- Class time is Friday 10:30am – 11:30am with an opportunity to pick up other classes during the week. Ability to teach Zumba Gold or seniors is ideal but not required.
What will you be doing?
- Delivering scheduled Zumba/ Dance Classes to Fitness Members.
- Instruct all classes in a professional manner.
- Prescribe and demonstrate exercise.
- Optimise the time between arrival for class and the beginning of class to build rapport with participants.
- Generate a vibrant and inclusive environment.
- Proactively engaging with class participants.
- Ensuring healthy and safe practices are followed.
What experience/skills do you need?
- Group Exercise experience within Zumba or Dance.
- REPs Registered (or able to obtain).
- Holds a Fitness or Group Fitness qualification (or currently studying).
- Current First Aid Certificate helpful.
- Vibrant and engaging personality.
- Positive, friendly and customer focused attitude.
