We are looking for an energetic Swim School Supervisor to join our Swim School team at Onehunga War Memorial Pool and Leisure Centre. This is a part time role offering a minimum of 25 hours per week based on a Sunday to Thursday roster with some variability and additional hours as per business needs.
What will you be doing?
- Create a fun and friendly environment within the swim school that is welcoming and comfortable to all members, new and old, and encourages a sense of belonging and support
- Assist with the development and implementation of swim school retention strategies
- Where a solution cannot be found the enquiry should be referred onto the Swim School Manager
- Oversee the delivery of all swim school programmes to ensure all classes and activities produce a quality learning and fun experience for all participants
- Coordinate each term’s swim school assessments
- Assist in the implementation and development of swim school programmes to increase member usage and retention
- Monitor swim school numbers and adjust swim school timetable to reflect demand and maximise usage. Any changes to the programme to be signed off by the Swim School Manager
- Assist the Swim School Manager to ensure recruitment, selection, appointment and induction of staff is undertaken in accordance with all relevant HR policies and procedures - ensuring all required pre employment due diligence is undertaken
- Assist in the administration of the Swim School, including enrolling children, taking phone calls, answering emails, collecting payments, and following up on debt
What experience/skills do you need?
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety License or equivalent industry recognised qualification
- Coaching and Training experience – provides feedback on a regular basis in a manner to improve the employee’s performance. Has facilitated one-to-one training and group training sessions
- Achievement orientated: Demonstrates motivation and perseverance to achieve results. Is proactive and displays initiative. Seeks challenges and establishes goals for self.
- Minimum one year of people management experience with ability to coach and train – providing feedback on a regular basis in a manner to improve the employee’s performance.
- Ability to build rapport with all swim school users.
