Are you a people-focused HR leader who believes culture is the heartbeat of an organisation? The Y is looking for a strategic and hands-on People & Culture Manager to lead our P&C function and shape a workplace where people thrive, leaders grow, and the employee experience truly reflects our values.

In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with the CEO, CFO and Senior Leadership Team to drive human-centred, future-focused people practices. You’ll coach and empower leaders, uplift capability, and redevelop our people frameworks to strengthen culture, performance and engagement across the organisation.

From guiding employment relations and organisational development to overseeing workforce planning and partnering with our leadership team, you’ll ensure our people strategies are practical, fair, and aligned to our long-term priorities.

If you’re passionate about building an inclusive, high-performing, and values-led workplace — this is your opportunity to lead meaningful change and make a real impact.

What You’ll Lead:

· Strategic Advice & Senior Partnering – Provide senior level advice and support, acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, SLT and Group Managers.

· People Strategy and Functional Redevelopment – Identify and implement improvement opportunities across the employee lifecycle and develop an effective operating model for the P&C function that enhances clarity and service delivery.

· Employment Relations – Provide advice to managers on a broad range of ER matters ensuring a fair, balanced and compliant approach with an early resolution focus.

· Learning and Development – Oversee delivery of L & D activities and coordinator leadership capability initiatives.

· People Leadership & Culture - Lead, grow, and inspire a high-performing, P & C team.

What You’ll Bring:

· 8+ years’ experience in a generalist HR leadership role.

· The proven ability to work with and advise CEO, CFO, and executive-level leaders.

· Strong coaching capability with a preference for capability building over punitive approaches.

· Strong understanding of NZ employment legislation.

· The ability to lead and support a team, including workload management and coaching.
