Y Out of School Care - Fun. Done. Right - where kids learn, play and grow within a safe environment.
You'll be helping to deliver a range of programmes, currently including Engineering Wonders, Cool Builders, Future Inventors, Sporty Stars, & Super Artists; where you'll guide kids to experience a range of 'all things cool' to explore, innovate, self discover, and just have an epic time!
We offer both school term programmes and holiday programmes.
We are looking for vibrant leaders to join our team in Hamilton.
You'll be forward thinking, well organized, can follow the required guidelines and love working with kids.
These are rostered roles offering 12 hours a week.
Due to MSD requirements and the NZ Government MSD Specialist Accreditation Standard, we are only able to accept applicants who are over the age of 20.
What will you be doing?
No day is the same! As a Team leader you will be:
- The Chef – helping prepare breakfast and afternoon tea
- The Coach – facilitating and playing games, sport and team building activities.
- The Artist/Dancer/Builder/Tech Person – getting creative with arts & crafts, showing off your mad dance moves, and tapping into your inner child with our awesome STEAM zones
- The First Aider – dealing with bumps and bruises, facilitating clean-ups and being a sounding board for their wild ideas
- The Safeguarder - keeping an eye on behaviours and supporting YMCA values
What experience/skills do you need?
- We want the X Factor and training will be provided for you to reach your full potential
- Great communication skills as you will be chatting to children, parents and staff regularly
- Empathy for children
- Passion for working with kids, youth and people in general
- Ability to work well and become a great team with your team members
