The Y Hamilton Recreation Centre has an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and forward thinking Centre Manager!

You will be across staff management, financial management, business planning, marketing, risk management, programme and service development, and effective evaluation and reporting. This means you will proactively connect and network with other businesses and organisation’s to grow our Fitness, Recreation and Community portfolios. As this position is based at a satellite site, the ability to work independently is a must.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and employees through effective planning and oversight of policies and procedures
  • Lead multi business unit centre that includes Fitness, Customer Care and Recreation.
  • Maintaining a high value relationship with all local stakeholders, forming strong relationships to add value to business operation and ensure services meet the needs of our community
  • Achievement of budgeted performance targets
  • Lead and provide leadership and vision for general operations at the centre
  • Recruitment of eneregetic, diverse and passionate employees
  • Carry our vision and inspire those they lead to impact, develop and grow
  • Leading the development and implementation of a local marketing strategy
  • Analysing reporting to create relevant action plans for the improvement of the centre

What experience/skills do you need?

  • Minimum Five (5) years of people management experience
  • Experience in a similar leadership role within the Sports and Recreation Industry will be highly regarded but should you have significant team leadership and budget management from a different industry, we would love to hear from you
  • An excellent written and oral communicator
  • Capable of working effectively as the leader and decision maker of the centre
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners, while having a good awareness of the surrounding community
  • Self- motivated, able to engage staff and the community and will be able to drive the business, with strong project management
  • Administrative, budgeting, business planning or financial analysis experience.
  • Have a working knowledge and overall understanding of all industry related policies and operational procedures
  • Proven knowledge of the Industry
