We have an exciting new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant, working 30 hours per week in our Finance team based at our regional support office in Pitt St, Central Auckland.

This brand new role, is ready and waiting for you to make it your own! An opportunity to develop your strengths and skills through collaborative projects with the CFO, Finance Manager and Financial Accountant, as well as providing general support across the accounting functions within the Finance Department.

What will you be doing?

  • Enter customer invoices into the accounting system in an accurate in timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Support the Financial Accountant with Xero activity and ultimately back up for all things Xero
  • Complete General Ledger reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Monitor and ensure all bank accounts are reconciled liaising with both Finance and non-Finance internal customers, as necessary to make sure things are cleared in a timely manner
  • Help manage debtors and pursue overdue debtors, arrange payment plans where appropriate and forward to debt collection agency where appropriate

What experience/skills do you need?

  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, cash handling and reconciliation
  • Previous customer service experience with clear verbal and written communication
  • Has a high attention to detail, initiates self-checking procedures, and promotes continuous improvement
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and meets deadlines
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification (advantageous but not essential)
